--->F#@$!  Anyone in the Philadelphia area will know what I'm talking about.  Anyway, made a few MINOR changes to the site, fixing some broken links and such.  And due to this site taking up too much bandwidth, it was shut down the other day.  I had to remove foul language, but if it happens again it will be removed.  I'll be looking for a new home, hopefully the "big news" will break before then.  And I keep saying it, but there  will be a huge news story coming up, I'm just not sure when.  Stay tuned, and in the mean time, join the FORUM, sign the PETITION, browse the site, and drop an email if you have any suggestions.

Ok, lots of references I've found recently...

South Park
1.  In "Free Hat", the boys dress up in island clothing to warm George Lucas' icy heart.  This clothing is almost exactly the same as the clothing worn by Coop and Remer while on the Malakalaka Balance Board of Trust.  Also, the boys' dance is very similar to Coop and Remer's island dance in a deleted scene.

Team America
*Note:  These are vague.  I couldn't find any concrete references.  As always, send them in.
1.  At one point, Chris says, "Oh s***."  It is said the exact same way as Coop during the BASEketball game at Britney's.
2.  When Gary is in the bar, the camera zooms to the jukebox to show that it is playing "Freedom Isn't Free".  This song reflects Gary's life and feelings at the time, much like "Warts on Your D***" reflected what Coop was going through.

Cannibal! The Musical
1.  I call this reference "Trey Can't Dance".  In Cannibal! The Musical, Trey uses a "stunt" double for the ballet scene.  (This is pretty obvious to notice.)  Not so obvious, but that mime psycheout in BASEketball was not done by Trey Parker.  That was also another "stunt" double.

Damn, another thing to mention, but very much worth it.  There will be a huge update to this site sometime in the future, hopefully late this year/early next year.  Some AWESOME news will also be posted soon.  Stay tuned for that.

--->Have you heard of Time Warped?  It was Matt and Trey's 2 episode TV series.  As with most of their work, there is a similarity to BASEketball. So, you can now download a short segment of "Time Warped" intertwined with a clip of BASEketball, and you can compare the two very similar scenes. (Click "Time Warped" dudes.)  Hopefully I won't have to tell you what the reference is, but if not, then check the "References" page.

--->Hope you all had a happy Fourth of July.  I just got back from vacation.  Why am I posting this?  Well because I was "given" a magazine on the plane, and to my surprise BASEketball was mentioned, in an article about Dodgeball.  I'll scan that in later, along with all the other references.  Team America has a release date for October the 15th, a week before South Park Season 8.  Also check out this eBay item, the BASEketball trailer on CD. --->Just recently got back from seeing Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.  If you're a fan of BASEketball (which I'm sure you all are), then you'll enjoy this movie.  It is actually strikingly similar, from the crude jokes, to the team names, to the evil rich guy, to people getting nailed with balls, to the main character coming just in time to win the championship, to the team making out after they win.  Boy, this whole movie is going in the References section!  Dodgeball, while being not as funny as BASEketball, is worth seeing.  These obscure sports seem to be pretty funny.

--->Due to popular demand, this update is to tell you guys out there how to make your own BASEketballs.  Here's the materials and instructions:

Materials
-1 regulation size basketball, rubber ones work fine
-1 can White spray paint
-1 Red magic marker
-1 Black magic marker
-Something to support a ball to hold it off the ground

Instructions
-Find a safe place, such as outside; Make sure it can get spray paint on it.
-Get your basketball and begin to spray paint it.  Evenly coat it, so you can't see through it, but not too much.
-When you're done, place it on the support, to keep it from getting stuck on the ground, newspaper, etc.
-Wait a few hours for the ball to dry.
-Get out your markers.  With the Red, paint the stitches on the seams of the basketball.  (Make sure you follow the seams that make it look like a baseball, it'll look like a figure-8)
-With the Black maker, copy a SPALDING logo onto one of the panels.
-Let markers dry, and now you're ready to play with your new BASEketball!!!
*depending on playing surface, paint may wear off.  Re-do ball as needed.
**if you can find an all-white basketball, that would be alot better.

--->Wow, it's been a while since my last update.  Anyway, I just got back from Scary Movie 3, and I spotted 3, count 'em, 3 BASEketball references.  (Scary Movie 3 was directed by David Zucker, if you didn't know, and he directed BASEketball, too, if you didn't know that either.)  1.  When the black guy is trying to revive Brenda, by pounding her chest, he shouts, "Live, dammit, live!".  Also George tries to revive her by using electric wires.  This scene closely resembles the hospital scene with Coop and Joey.  2.  When George comes over to Cindy's to babysit Cody, he says, "Heads up, Cody!", and hits him with a basketball on the head, knocking him over.  Remer did (and said) the same thing to Travis in the scene right after Coop and Remer meet Jenna Reed.  3.  Not sure of the scene, or who says it, but someone says "Feel these nipples".  Bob Costas said the same after the Beers win their first Denslow Cup.

The Musical, www.cannibalthemusical.net.  I will most likely get that up and running within the week.  I am also thinking about putting a good message board up in the near future.
